Empowering Futures: Preventing Youth Violence in the UK
In recent years, youth violence, particularly knife crime, has become one of the most pressing issues confronting the United Kingdom. A surge in violent incidents amongst young people not only devastates families but also threatens the very fabric of our communities. In London alone, the number of knife crime offences recorded in 2019 was over 15,000, the highest since data collection began. Such incidents not only threaten the lives of our youth but hinder them from realizing their full potential and put them at risk of incarceration. More disturbingly, a significant portion of those involved are under 18, highlighting the urgent need for systemic intervention.
